American Premier Soccer League 2015 Fall Tournament Set to Kickoff After Successful Season

After the excitement of the 2015 American Premier Soccer League Season, the league decided to host a Fall Tournament to keep league awareness up and provide a high-level tournament in the middle of the APSL off-season.

Although most of the APSL teams have opted to joining the Tournament, some have not and have given their place in the tournament for new clubs to come in and test the waters to see if the APSL is the right place for them.

The current NPSL Sunshine Conference Champions, Miami Fusion, have joined the 2015 Fall Tournament, as has Miami Storm FC.

The current APSL Champions, Boca Raton FC will take the field for the fall tournament as well as Uruguay Kendall, Alianza Miami, Red Force FC, Real Miami, and South Florida FC.

The eight-team tournament will be played in two specific venues, FIU’s North Campus, and Broward College’s South Campus.

The tournament will have four games per weekend, with each venue splitting the games, Broward College on Saturdays and FIU on Sundays.

The three-month tournament will also help current APSL Teams as they prepare for the U.S. Open Qualifiers that start in October.

Miami Fusion, the current NPSL Sunshine Conference Champions, and Boca Raton FC, the current APSL Champions, both come into the tournament as the clear favorites, yet powerhouses Uruguay Kendall, Red Force, and South Florida FC all have squads whom have played together for years and will sure to give Boca Raton FC and Miami Fusion a though tournament.

“This is a very important tournament for us,” explains Boca Raton FC head coach, Marcelo Castillo. “This fall tournament will help us as a club evaluate new talent, and see who will be able to continue on with us during the main APSL season in March.”

“We are very excited for the new season,” says Bert Mahecha, owner of South Florida FC. “We have individuals that have dreams and what to belong to more than just a group. South Florida FC is looking forward to make an impact in this tournament.”
