The Fort Lauderdale Strikers will look to get back to its winning ways this Saturday as the Red and Gold host the Atlanta Silverbacks at Lockhart Stadium.

Following their late-game draw versus FC Edmonton to open up the Fall Season campaign a home last week, the Strikers and head coach Gunter Kronsteiner are hungry and in search of the first victory of the fall.

“I’m expecting a tough game,” says Kronsteiner. “Atlanta have some very good players.”

The Silverbacks finished the Spring Season in last-place with only eight points in the season, yet Kronsteiner is cautious, “They realized the problems they had and fixed them; they are a completely different team now.”

Fort Lauderdale is currently in 9th place in the Fall standings with a 0-2-0 record, but they will look to give their home fans a win before heading on the road for a 3-game roadtrip that will begin on July 25 when they take on Freddy Adu and the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

The last time the Strikers and the Silverbacks played the match ended in a scoreless draw on May 2.

The Silverbacks come to Fort Lauderdale after defeating Jacksonville Armada FC 1-0 at home, securing a vital three points to start off their Fall Season.
