Orlando City SC To Play Second Home Game Against Vancouver Whitecaps

Orlando City SC faces the Vancouver Whitecaps for their second home game of the season this Saturday March 21st at 7:30 PM. Currently sitting on four points and tied for first in the Eastern Conferences along with New York City FC, Orlando is looking to another packed Citrus Bowl to gain a valuable three points against a fellow Eastern team. Although Vancouver lost their opening game 3-1 to Toronto FC on March 7, they defeated the Chicago Fire 1-0 last week and will look to take that positive momentum and capitalize over a new and relatively inexperienced MLS team in Orlando.

Players to Watch:

Orlando City SC: Aurelien Collin, who will be eligible after his red card suspension, should help safeguard Orlando’s surprising defensive prowess. Only allowing one goal in two games and no shots on target allowed last week, the defense should play a large role against Vancouver at home. Rafael Ramos will need to keep up his solid defensive performances as well in order to keep Vancouver’s offense at bay.

Vancouver Whitecaps: Octavio Rivero, who will be putting a lot of pressure on Orlando’s defense as well as Orlando’s offense with his ability to score goals. Rivero has to goals on the season so far and has a lot of help from the midfield, especially Pedro Morales who had the assist in Rivero’s goal last week against the Fire.

Matchup to Watch:

Orlando City’s offense vs. Vancouver Whitecap’s offense. This game is likely to come down to goals scored, one aspect of the game Orlando is still struggling to find a rhythm with as the Lions only have two goals on the whole season. Vancouver’s backline is not their strength and Orlando should be able to penetrate and score.

Where to Watch:

Orlando City’s new TV deal kicks into action this week with the game being shown on FOX Sports Florida / Sun Sports as well as the FOX Sports GO app. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST.
