New York Red Bulls Closing in on Ronaldinho

ronaldinho-flamengo 2The New York Red Bulls on close on signing former FIFA World Cup Champion Ronaldinho as the clubs third designated player, according to the website OUL.

Ronaldinho, who parted ways with Atlético-MG earlier in the week, has been linked to MLS in the past however now looks like the perfect time.

According to OUL, Ronaldinho’s representatives have already met with Red Bulls brass as they are trying to work a deal to land the former FIFA World Cup Champion.

Ronaldinho, 34, would be the perfect fit to a New York team who is losing fan interest, and with the addition of flashy neighbors NYCFC, the Red Bulls look to be in more trouble then they are letting on.

To make matters worst, Thierry Henry has been mulling over retiring this winter but New York hopes that by signing his former Barcelona teammate it will make him change his stance.

Ronaldinho would be the Red Bulls third designated player, as the club already had both Henry, and Australian-national Tim Cahill in the books.

However, ‘dinho’s agent, who also happens to be his brother, refuses to give up any information on the destination of the former FIFA Player of the Year. Nevertheless, Ronaldinho himself has said his “decision” is coming soon.
