Just two short weeks after agreeing to a contract extension through the 2014 season with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, it looks as if Aly Hassan is on the move.

According to the website, Hassan has been loaned to Bolivian-side, Club Aurora this past weekend.

Club Aurora, a football club from Cochabamba, Bolivia, currently plays in the Bolivian Professional Football League.

Sunday afternoon, the team’s facebook page posted a picture of Hassan speaking to reporters, in what is being called an “internal leak” by sources close to Hassan.

“While Aurora’s President, Oscar Maldonado, has not denied or confirmed the recruitment of American striker Aly Hassan,” said the club’s official facebook page on Sunday. “The 23-year old striker has arrived [in Bolivia] and has put himself under the command of coach Neveleff”.

“He (Neveleff) helped me a lot in my football career,” said Hassan to the Bolivian website “I will work hand in hand with my fellow teammates to be successful.”

No official word of a loan has been announced by the Fort Lauderdale Strikers so far, but once reached for comment a team official said, “Aly is a very talented player who we feel can perform at many levels around the world.”

However, sources have confirmed the Hassan-to-Aurora loan is a go, and an official announcement by both the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, and Club Aurora is expected within the next 24 hours.

Hassan completed his first professional season in 2012, in which he finished with six goals in league play and added three during the U.S. Open Cup. Hassan made 20 appearances for the Strikers with 13 starts.

A native of South Florida, Hassan attended Cypress Bay High School and Nova Southeastern University where he played four seasons. He scored 36 goals in his career at NSU, which ranks him fifth in school history.
